5 Tell-Tale Signs You Need an Electrician to Take a Look at Your Circuitry Immediately

You’d think it would be strikingly obvious when it’s time to hire an electrician, though there are certain issues which can go unnoticed or aren’t taken as seriously as they perhaps should. In this post, we are going to point out a few different issues which might fly under the radar, though are tell-tale signs that it’s time to call in the professionals and have your electrics looked at.

1 – Your Light Fixtures Are Becoming Increasingly Hot

Of course, your light bulbs will always produce heat, though it is very peculiar to be finding that the fixtures themselves are producing excessive amounts of heat. These should be insulated properly if you want to avoid electrical fires from spreading – if you have your suspicions and you feel that one of your fixtures is producing more heat than it should, you must call out a reliable emergency electrician immediately.

2 – Minor Electric Shocks or Tingling Sensations Coming from an Appliance

If at any point you or a family member experiences an electric shock or a tingling sensation when touching an appliance, do not hesitate to call for help! Don’t shrug it off and assume that it’s just one of those things that happen – you should never experience anything like that if an appliance is functioning properly. An electrician will be able to come out and examine your electrics and advise you accordingly before any serious accidents can occur.

3 – Circuit Breaker Tripping Regularly

It happens now and again, which isn’t the end of the world – in this case, it really is just one of those things. However, if you are experiencing regular tripping with your circuit breaker and it feels out of the ordinary, then you’ll have to call in for some expert advice from the professionals. Again, there’s no point running the risk of putting it down to being nothing; if something horribly goes wrong, you’ll never forgive yourself.

4 – If Your Lights are Flickering Irregularly

Naturally when a light begins to flicker your first assumption is that your house is either haunted or you need to replace the lightbulb. If, however you replace a light bulb and the flickering persists, we’d recommend calling an electrician before you get onto the Ghost Busters as it’s more than likely an issue with your wiring.

5 – Burning Smells

If you can smell an ‘electrical burning odour’ coming from anywhere in your home, then we would advise that you switch your electricity off immediately and call for help. Otherwise, an electrical fire could quite literally break out at any moment which would be catastrophic!

Do not wait for the worst to occur before taking care of a problem. If you have any doubts or suspicions about the integrity of your electrics, call for help. What’s the worst that can happen? There are no problems and you have your peace of mind restored to you? Doesn’t sound all that bad at all, does it?
